Fertilization & Weed Control
A Healthier, Greener, Weed-Free Lawn—All Year
What We Do
Lawn Commander’s Fertilization & Weed Control Program delivers a full season of professional treatments that feed your turf, stop weeds in every season, and improve color and density. We tailor products to local grasses (Bermuda, Zoysia, and Tall Fescue) and North Mississippi weather so your lawn gets what it needs—when it needs it.
Why It Works
Nutrient-Balanced Feeding – Timed granular and liquid fertilizers for steady color and growth.
Pre- & Post-Emergent Weed Control – Blocks new weeds before they sprout and targets existing broadleaf and grassy weeds.
Soil & pH Consideration – Lime applications as needed to keep nutrients available to the plant.
Seasonally Timed Visits – Strategic applications through spring, summer, and fall for consistent results.
Professional Application – Trained techs, clean edges, and a service slip after every visit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fertilization & Weed Control
How long does it take to start seeing fewer weeds and better color after I begin the program?
Most customers notice weeds curling or fading within 10–14 days of the first application, and color improves as fertilizer cycles in. A truly weed-controlled, thick lawn typically takes a full season of consistent treatments.
What types of weeds does your program address, and do you handle both early-season and summer weeds?
We use pre-emergents to block early weeds like crabgrass and post-emergents to knock down actively growing broadleaf and grassy weeds throughout the year. Each visit includes spot treatments based on what’s present that day.
Will this work on Bermuda, Zoysia, and Fescue lawns, or do you treat them differently?
Yes. We tailor products and timing for each grass type—Bermuda and Zoysia receive warm-season feeding and weed control, while Fescue may require gentler summer strategies and fall nutrition.
Do I need to water in the products, and what should my mowing routine look like after a visit?
If we apply granular fertilizer, light watering within 24–48 hours helps. Liquid weed controls should dry before irrigation (usually a few hours). Avoid mowing for 24–48 hours after treatment so products can work effectively.
Can you guarantee that all weeds will disappear after one treatment?
No single application eliminates every weed. Perennial and grassy weeds can be stubborn, and new seeds germinate all season. The program’s 8-visit cadence is designed to prevent new weeds and suppress existing ones over time.
Is the service safe for kids and pets, and when can we re-enter the lawn?
Yes. Treated areas are safe once dry (typically 2–4 hours). We’ll note any special instructions on your service slip.
Do you offer pest or grub control with fertilization, or is that separate?
Those are optional add-ons. The standard program includes fertilization and weed control only. Add Flea & Tick Prevention, Mosquito Reduction, or Grub Prevention if needed.
How is pricing determined, and do you offer monthly billing?
Pricing is based on lawn size. We offer monthly or yearly payment options—get a quick quote and we’ll size the program to your property.
What if I still see weeds between visits—should I call you?
Yes. Some weeds require multiple touches or different chemistry. Send a note or call and we’ll advise whether a recheck is needed or if they will be addressed at the next scheduled visit.
